Where TopicDrift began: ~11K ICSE papers (1976–2025), each assigned to the same global topics used by every scope. The streamgraph traces how broad research themes rose and fell; the treemap breaks each decade into its themes and topics; the drift search lets you follow any keyword over time.

Decade → topic. Tile area is paper volume; colour is the topic's identity. Toggle to recolour by citation impact, growth vs. the previous decade, or newly-emerged topics — and click any tile for a decade's era summary or a topic's full stats and papers.
Browse the ten overarching themes and their sub-topics. Click a theme to overlay its drift curve, or expand it to pick individual sub-topics; selected series share one axis, each with a star at its peak period. The cards list each sub-topic's most-cited papers.
Follow the people, not the papers: each researcher's dominant theme is tracked across 5-year windows. Grey ribbons stayed, coloured ribbons migrated. Press play or drag the timeline, then click a period chip below the chart for that window's drift summary.
Does a theme keep talking about the same things? Each cell shades how much of a theme's five defining words changed from the previous 5-year window; hover for the exact terms gained (+) and lost (−).
The shifting pecking order: each theme's rank by share of papers over time. Where two lines cross, one theme overtook another.
